Some truck drivers go above and beyond every single day, and the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) wants to make sure they get noticed. Nominations are now open for the 2027 TCA Professional Drivers of the Year program.
According to The Trucker, the program will honor five professional truck drivers. Each winner will receive a $20,000 cash prize.
What the award is about
The TCA Professional Drivers of the Year program celebrates drivers who stand out in four areas: safety, professionalism, leadership, and community involvement.
That last part matters. Many drivers do a lot more than haul freight. They train new drivers, help stranded motorists, volunteer in their hometowns, and represent the industry in a positive way. This award is a chance to recognize that kind of work.
The program is sponsored by Love’s Travel Stops and Cummins Inc., two companies that work closely with drivers every day.
Key dates and details
- Nominations are open through December 4, 2026.

Why recognition matters
Trucking is a tough job. Drivers spend long hours on the road, often far from home, and most of the time their hard work goes unseen. Programs like this help show the public, and other drivers, what professionalism in trucking really looks like.
Recognition also matters for the future of the industry. When great drivers are celebrated, it sends a clear message to people thinking about a career behind the wheel: this work is valued.
Our take at CW Carriers
At CW Carriers, we work with professional drivers every day, and we see firsthand how much their skill and care make a difference. Congratulations in advance to the drivers who will be nominated this year. You earn it every mile.
